Get the Most From Your Diesel Engine

Keeping your engine healthy is key to keeping your vehicle running. Diesel engines need special care, just like normal engines do. Below are a couple of important tips to keep in mind when you are trying to get the most power and life out of your diesel engine.

Use a Fuel Air Separation System

If you want your engine to last as long as possible, it’s best to get a fuel air separation system. These systems do several things to improve your engine. These include improving fuel economy, injector life, and throttle response; running the engine quieter; reducing emissions; and restoring lost horsepower.

Different types of air fuel separation systems will work on different vehicle brands. For example, airdog products and accessories work with Caterpillar, Cummins, Mack, and more.

Never Use Normal Gasoline

Diesel engines are not designed to use average vehicle fuel. If you do this, your engine will not fare well. Many things can go wrong, depending on how often you use normal fuel and how much you use it. For the best effects, never use normal gasoline.

Putting gasoline in a diesel engine may make it so your vehicle will not start. It can also damage your fuel system by removing lubrication and contaminating the fuel filter. One visible sign of damage is black smoke coming from the tailpipe. If this happens, bring your vehicle to a mechanic right away.

If you want your diesel to last as long as possible, make sure to never use regular fuel. Doing this will prevent major damages to your engine. Also, try to get an air fuel separation system if possible. This an action that can actively improve your engine right away and continue to improve your engine over time. Keep these two tips in mind no matter what type of diesel vehicle you drive.
